These are a few of our favorite sights:

It was a pretty special place... After dinner we would "go for a walk to the water to see boats" and were never disappointed in the strange serenity that came from the western branch of the Elizabeth River lapping the rocks with the freeway overpass rumbling monotonously overhead... and even on the hottest days we could count on the breeze to cool us down.
It wasn't our favorite place in the world, but it wasn't the worst. And for a while, it was our place in the world, which made it perfect. It's where our family grew from 3 to 5. It's where I learned some of the most important lessons of my life. I miss it... I've missed all the places we've lived. 6 states in 5 years.
But we're home now. And looking forward to coming back here after we visit all our old places someday.

I love those photos, and I love that no matter where you are you make it your home, because you're together.

Beautiful pictures. Sometimes you have to leave to really appreciate where you were.
